The RagTime GmbH is discontinuing RagTime Solo

Our revolutionary “RagTime Solo” promotion was extremely successful: it was the first time that the RagTime GmbH legally provided professional business publishing software for tens of thousands of private users. And the level of interest shown by the media and users alike remained consistent for years, thus meaning that RagTime Solo has been published on countless magazine CDs time and again. Now RagTime is a well-known and established product in many market segments – which is also thanks to RagTime Solo.

The terms of the license for RagTime Solo have, however, often been misinterpreted or consciously violated - and that’s why we have decided to discontinue RagTime Solo. There will be no private version of RagTime 6.

RagTime would like to thank all users of RagTime Solo for their years of loyalty and also thank them for their constructive and valuable support during the Beta test of RagTime 6. We will soon contact all registered RagTime Solo users with an attractive transitional offer for RagTime 6. We will also be offering a lower-priced version for students at school and at university or college for the duration of their studies. At the other end of the range of applications we have created a site license with RagTime XL, which can be used in all workplaces within one single company.

Questions and Answers

Q: Can I continue to use RagTime 5.x Solo?
A: Yes, by taking into account the terms of the license, which rule out any form of commercial application. We do, however, recommend that you change over to RagTime 6, our future-proof software package, which is optimally adapted to current operating systems with many new, functions and a whole new interface.

Q: Will there continue to be a registration for RagTime 5 Solo?
A: No.

Q: Will there continue to be support for RagTime 5 Solo?
A: No, support will be discontinued.

Q: RagTime Solo is used privately and the full version of RagTime is used in companies. Is there a version here for private utilization?
A: The terms of the license of RagTime 6 allow for it to be installed on a main and second computer. If your employer / company agrees, the second computer can also be located at home. Simultaneous utilization is, however, not permissible.

Q: How are private users reacting to the fact that RagTime Solo is being discontinued?
A: In talks with our users, we have been met with a great deal of understanding for this decision, which was unavoidable from various economic points of view.

Q: Is there a version, which can be bundled with magazines?
A: Yes, a fully functioning 30-day trial version is available for testing.

Q: How is the retail market reacting?
A: Countless revolutionary new functions are making RagTime 6 even more efficient. In short, users are able to work more productively with RagTime 6. The retail market is reacting positively, increasingly presenting RagTime 6, developing new forms of applications, accessing new market segments and selling more products.
